To meet the needs of these working students, UMUC has pioneered in the field of distance education. Today, UMUC offers over 300 courses, 14 bachelor's degree programs, 12 graduate degree programs and 40 certificate programs entirely online. There were over 30,000 students enrolled in online programs in the U.S. last year (through April 21, 2000) and about 8,700 international online students.
